Thanks Mahona, it was working fine. Now, I would like to populate the package tracking to T110. But I don't find any field relation between T7322 and T110 to do a lookup. Lookup Or may be directly by the code?

Finally got users to test this for the last few days.  So both users reported that using the new AD and NAV accounts they don't have the issue any longer, but one said that functions that were available to him in his old account aren't there in the new and the other reported that printing is different w/ the new account.  Is there a way to get those things restored for them?

Forum Post: Payment discounts and dimension on GL Discount account

I have recently set up all P&L GL codes to require a warehouse code.   When posting AP payments with discounts, I am getting                      A dimension used for Gen. Journal Line PAYMENTS, DEFAULT, 210000 has caused an error.  Select a Dimension Value Code for the Dimension Code WAREHOUSE for G/L Account 8004   When the item is purchased the inventory goes into the dimension for the warehouse that is getting the inventory.   We do not pass the discounts to the warehouse they should all show on the corporate Income statement.  So when they pay the vendors and take the payment discount they get an error posting the payment journal.  The system is generating the discount we are not entering a line for the GL account in the PO. We tried using Same Code and Code Mandatory with a default of HQ.

Hi to all. I need to consume Navision codeunit web service from a j2ee application deployed on websphere. A developed a standalone application and it works perfectly. When I copy this code in a java class within the j2ee application I have a nullpointexception. Reading trace log server, I found out the web service call is executed but the answer is a 401 error...I don't know why but is seems the authentication I implemented does not work in a j2ee application. Is there a way to implement such an integration? I spent some day without success. Thanks in advance!

Blog Post: BYOD making mobile WMS easier

With the release of the new Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015, there are a lot of benefits that have come into play. One of the most significant additions, as we've noted previously, is the ability to run the ERP software on any mobile device. This has some major implications for manufacturers. It opens up new ideas for how to handle technology in the workforce and how to implement ERP in such a way that it feels natural to the end user. In the case of mobile warehouse management, a new opportunity has appeared in the form of allowing workers to use their own smartphones and tablets to handle inventory through a bring your own device policy. Independent usage BYOD has come to life in the last few years. Companies allow their employees to bring their own smartphone or tablet to the factory or office and use it for work purposes. Workers can utilize software that is approved for use by the manufacturer to complete the job. This can include warehouse management, accounting, invoicing and timekeeping software. ERP solutions that are based in the cloud can aid in this effort by allowing employees to simply log in to the ERP software over the Internet or mobile apps. There are many benefits to using a BYOD policy. For starters, IT no longer has to purchase and maintain a lot of hardware because the employees are the ones responsible for the equipment. In a cloud-based set up, IT staffers also don't need to constantly maintain the software and mainframe hardware since that is handled by the cloud service provider. That can save a lot of time needed to develop and implement new technology strategies within the company. Workers are happy to use their own smartphones and tablets and will need less training to integrate them into certain operations, including production and inventory. More importantly, the amount of equipment needed on the factory floor or the warehouse is drastically reduced, which can save companies money over the long term. Using software that works with any mobile device like NAV 2015 can make companies far more flexible in how they manage operations both in the factory and with potential customers. The warehouse becomes simple One of the applications where BYOD can be especially useful is mobile WMS, according to Wired. Instead of needing special barcode scanners and other equipment to check inventory, all the workers have to do is sync up to the ERP software in the cloud and use their device cameras to scan barcodes and QR codes for automatic data capture. In return, these employees are able to actually look at the inventory count, rather than having to rely on sending information to the office for a manager to review. That can allow them to fix any sudden problems with the current stock or parts and goods, which can save a lot of time and improve productivity. Such centralization can help save money in the long run and increase efficiency. For more information on improving efficiency with barcode technology, download the free white paper entitled "Keeping the Physical World and the Virtual World in Sync" from DMS today. Did you mean "Language Modules for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2". I did't have done a translation with this and added it to the Client. See my first and second post. I think that when You will print an Document with a different Language as youre enviroment runs. Than you will have these Problem. The best Workaround seem that all Languacodes must set to 1033. Not to the Language Windows Systemcode Beside the main Language. Or all Customers must have the Main Languagecode ENU

Hi Marina, Uhm... not sure about the rest of the process, as the tech support do not really have access to that kind of information. But you should have a key account manager that should be able to answer that for you?

Blog Post: Checklist for successful Microsoft Dynamics NAV implementation

Microsoft Dynamics NAV (formerly known as Navision) is a popular ERP (enterprise resource planning) solution from Microsoft. The phenomenal popularity of NAV as an ERP solution is evident by the fact that it is the only ERP software to have breached the 1 million licensed user mark, and currently have over 1.3 million users from over 70,000 companies spanning across several countries. Navision implementation has helped several companies to streamline their processes, plug-in the loopholes, increase their efficiency, enhance their productivity and catalyse their growth. Such advantages of Dynamics NAV have prompted thousands of new companies to implement Navision at their organization. However, to make the most of Navision implementation, companies need to consider the following checklist while implementing NAV. • Know how implementation can fail, and take appropriate actions to prevent it: Though NAV is a highly rewarding software solution, NAV implementation can fail. Failed implementation can cause the projects to go devastatingly wrong. Hence, it is necessary to take all the precautionary steps while implementing Navision so as to ensure that the projects don't go wrong. • Set your goals: Only a clear pre-set goal of well-defined objectives can lead to key deliverables and project fulfilment. Hence, it is necessary that you clearly set your organizational goals after thoroughly analyzing your business needs before you implement Dynamics.     • Be realistic while setting goals: Though NAV is an immensely powerful tool and can help businesses in several ways, it is highly advisable you be realistic while setting your objective goals from NAV implementation. If you set the goals/objectives too high, and customize your NAV settings accordingly, it may lead to counter-productive results. • Ensure strict control: It is necessary to keep strict control on all the key processes that are being managed by Dynamics. It will ensure that all the management modules of NAV are being optimally utilized for the company's growth. • Careful Gap analysis: It is vital to identify the gaps (both functional and non-functional) in all the existing and planned processes. The identified gaps need to be duly addressed during NAV implementation to increase the overall efficiency of the company. • Implement Standard MS Dynamics NAV: though you can selectively custom NAV package as per your selective needs, it is advisable that you procure Standard MS Dynamics NAV package as all its modules has been carefully designed by Microsoft after  immense research to streamline all the sub-processes of an organization. • Conduct effective training: NAV is an easy to learn ERP. This by no way means that one does not need any training for using it. You need to have an efficient Navision training program for the employees to help them get accustomed with the ERP solution and know how to use its features more efficiently. • Try to deliver business intelligence with NAV: Besides focussing on plugging-in loopholes, minimizing company's costs and maximizing its costs, it is also necessary that you intend to use NAV implementation for business intelligence. This implies that you should be able to use the Navision tools for analyzing the key business data to anticipate future opportunities and try to plan for them the best. • Identify and minimize risks: Knowing the challenges and employing the NAV resources to tackle them is the best way to implement Navision. However, while doing this, one should be absolutely sure of the risks involved and try your best to minimize them. • Be prepared for future NAV upgrades: Microsoft continuously keeps upgrading its Dynamic products to more them more useful with the modern business. This results in upgraded versions of Dynamics NAV (like NAV 2013 R2, NAV 2015, etc.) being released from time to time. While implementing any NAV version at your organization, you must have prior arrangements to incorporate future upgrades.

Hi Louis, I don't receive "You cannot make any changes ..." error. May be it is caused by another customization, can you trace it by debugging? Or may be you can try COMMIT function.

hi, only some suggestions. "401 error" is "unauthorized" issue. Try to use "Username"for NAV authentication model instead of Windows Model (using certificate mapping wirh certificate thumprint); I tested some times ago with SOAPUI Client and Others Java clients, you need to pass credentials on WSDL after mapping (if have need to cnnect one); you can also activate NTLM Authentication if necessary. some links\blogs here blogs.msdn.com/.../connecting-to-nav-web-services-from-java.aspx consuming webservice with java mibuso.com/.../viewtopic.php ;t=57164&view=previous
