Track your In-Transit inventory and Site Transfers
How can you better anticipate what is coming to your receiving dock from overseas containers, or site-to-site transfers? Now WithoutWire™ In-Transit System provides a real-time notification of when it leaves the port destined for your location. Once you receive this inventory, you need to distribute it to your multiple sites through site transfers, which can be very problematic when not properly tracked. The inventory may be lost or counted incorrectly, that is why a feature such as site transfers can be so helpful. This allows you the capability to transfer your inventory from one site to another, with full item/lot traceability. Our method of de-coupling from the ERP posting process means that you no longer have to wait for posting to determine the status and visibility of your in-transit inventory. Reporting is designed to guide you through: who moved the inventory, when they moved it, where they moved it to, and special notes captured at the time of the movement of the inventory, such as why it was moved. With site transfers we also have the capability to have an “in transit” location. The great thing about “in transit” location is that you are able to have visibility of the inventory through the shipping process. The inventory will no longer be in the shipping warehouse, it will not yet be at the receiving warehouse, but it will appear in the WithoutWire WMS as In- Transit with full traceability details. And of course you have the option to transfer the inventory without the in-transit location. This will take your inventory from the shipping warehouse and be automatically received in from the receiving warehouse – complete with a packing list.
Advance your Allocation
The WithoutWire™ allocation optimizes your fill-rates for inventory that have been pre assigned to current or future sales orders.
WithoutWire offers you a variety of Allocation methods:
1. Hard Allocation: This means the inventory would be deemed “untouchable inventory” within the warehouse. It is set aside in a specific location with a hold status: unable to be picked except for a specific order. An example of this would be if you made regular sales orders for a larger company who “penalizes” you if the order is not completely filled, for this type of order you would want your inventory to be in a hard allocation state.
2. Soft Allocation: Soft allocation allows for “what-if” scenarios around optimizing the days known sales orders. The inventory is designated for certain orders to accommodate your optimal fill-rates prior to assigning orders to be picked in the warehouse. After the adjustments are made and the inventory is allocated, if the inventory is needed for a current or higher priority sales order then the supervisor with appropriate authority is able to override the system and pick the inventory that is soft allocated.
